Pool Removal in Seminole
There are two ways to take out a pool, and the one you choose changes the price, the paperwork, and what you can build on the spot afterwards. Our yard is about 20 minutes away, and we are licensed C-11855 and CUC041521.
Wide lots are what make a Seminole pool job easy: a Bardmoor or Oakhurst ranch usually has room to bring a machine down the side of the house instead of through a gate, and that alone puts a partial fill-in among the quickest we do. When the pool goes with the whole house, full removal is the right call so the new footprint is not sitting on old gunite.
Seminole demolition is mostly clean single-house knockdowns — a fifty-year-old ranch coming down for a bigger new build — plus pool removals and mobile home haul-offs. Wide lots and easy machine access make these efficient jobs, and we price them that way.
Partial removal is the common choice. The pool is drained, the shallow-end floor is broken up so water can drain through, the top of the shell is knocked down at least a couple of feet below grade, and the void is filled and compacted. It is faster and cheaper, and it is what most homeowners pick when the space is becoming lawn, garden or patio. The tradeoff is disclosure: a partially removed pool stays on the record when you sell, and the ground is generally not considered buildable.
Full removal takes out the entire shell, the decking and the plumbing, and the hole is refilled with engineered fill compacted in lifts. It costs meaningfully more than a partial fill-in and takes longer, but it leaves ground you can build on and a cleaner story at resale. If there is any chance of an addition, a garage or an ADU on that spot, full removal is the honest recommendation.

What it costs
What drives a Seminole quote
| Scope of job | What drives the number |
|---|---|
| Partial removal, good access | Pool size and how much deck comes with it |
| Partial removal, tight access | Handwork and smaller equipment where a machine cannot reach |
| Full removal with engineered fill | Shell volume, fill quantity, and compaction testing if required |
| Deck, screen enclosure and equipment | Enclosure removal is usually a modest add to the same mobilization |
Every demolition is quoted on site, free. Access, structure and what has to be protected move the number more than square footage does, which is why we walk it rather than price it down the phone.
Twenty minutes from the yard, all in-county surface roads, no bridge or toll. A Seminole teardown cycles loads back to Keene Rd fast enough that most single-house demos are cleared in a day or two.
How it works
What a Seminole job looks like
Drain and disconnect
Water discharged legally; pool electrical and plumbing cut and capped at the equipment pad.
Permit
Pool demolition is permitted through your city or county. We file it and schedule around the review.
Demolish
Decking and shell broken out — fully, or down below grade for a partial removal.
Haul and recycle
Concrete, gunite and deck go to our own yard and get crushed into base material.
Backfill and grade
Fill placed and compacted in lifts, then graded to blend with the rest of the yard.
Questions
Pool Removal in Seminole — FAQs
How much does pool removal cost in Seminole?
It comes down to the structure and the access, not the ZIP code. On partial removal, good access, what moves the number is pool size and how much deck comes with it. What moves it in Seminole is very little — wide lots and easy access make these efficient, and structure size ends up doing most of the work. We walk the site and quote it, free.
Do I need a permit to remove a pool?
Yes. Every Tampa Bay municipality permits pool demolition, and we handle the filing as part of the job.
How long does pool removal take?
Two to four days on site for most residential pools once the permit is in hand. Tight access or a full removal with compaction testing runs longer.
What happens to the concrete?
It comes back to our own C&D transfer station on Keene Rd and gets crushed into road base, paver base and #57 rock. Nothing is subcontracted to a landfill at a markup.
